How To Love 04:27
Old Wally he’s far from sane I played a song for him the other day He’s wounded by a war he never fought in Softly spoken eyes he rubbed his truth was a lie it was his brothers blood Regret is a killer honour still mourning He’s a man not a boy like a girl's not a woman He’s a man not a boy like a girl’s not a woman Young Helen I guessed her name, when we’re introduced I forget my age I’m not a boy but I still shiver Take some time or jump right in the rules to the game just don’t exist But I don’t wanna play this game forever He’s a man not a boy like a girl's not a woman He’s a man not a boy like a girl’s not a woman In a band not a war and a war’s not a woman So be a man not a boy to a girl or a woman But he couldn’t find how to love, couldn’t find how to love Couldn’t seem to find that love And the love he carried was a mighty thing Couldn’t find how to love, couldn’t find how to love Couldn’t seem to find that love And the love he carried was a mighty thing So where are you now? And did you guess it? Life has a funny way and did you guess it? I must admit, some things aren’t easy But I thought that all things would work out Maybe they will, tomorrow’s not today We’ve so many choices and freedoms But not all of this world People like you and me Why are we lonely is everyone givin?

If I only would, if I only could If I’d only learn those lessons If I only would, if I only could If I’d only learn those lessons Lesson one can be a little fun Cause you’re not old enough to know How the race is run To that nipple you clung Lesson two gotta follow through Take that ball and run it boy It’s waiting for you Don’t worry if you’re losing a shoe If I only would, if I only could If I’d only learn those lessons If I only would, if I only could If I’d only learn those lessons Lesson three don’t forget to dream Everybody needs to know that If you plant a seed Someday you will grow a tree Lesson four when you hit that wall And you find no use in trying Too far to fall But even Newton didn’t follow his law If I only would, if I only could If I’d only learn those lessons If I only would, if I only could If I’d only learn those lessons Take me back to school (x3) Let me play the fool.. Lessons lost or lessons gained I can never change the fact I’m gonna make mistakes We all fall on our face If I only would, if I only could If I’d only learn those lessons If I only would, if I only could If I’d only learn those lessons

Only seems like yesterday Now I know better I was killing my brain We would should jump and scream for days And then lie awake I woke up and I tried to say Do the hard yards will be worth the wait You are not ready for a larger stage, well Not right away All we need is a little I can do it plan To find a way and feel ok All we want is a little I can do it plan To find a way and feel ok Got on a plane to the UK Lookin for my ancestors, who were they Work for nothing all night and day, but I Paid my way Went here, there and everywhere then home to stay Pokies in the clubs, pubs to fry the brain Country in a mess, Liberals in again, So went to Byron Bay All we need is a little I can do it plan To find a way and feel ok All we want is a little I can do it plan To find a way and feel ok All we got is a little I can do it plan To find a way and feel ok All we have is a little I can do it plan To find a way and feel ok So don’t do you drag me down today Don’t say it if it’s not something good to say Shake off the shackles, dontcha bring em this way And jump high again No way that you can please everyone Come out of the cold get into the sun Know I’m feelin right, know when I’ve done wrong Either way, come on now let it lay All we need is a little I can do it plan To find a way and feel ok All we want is a little I can do it plan To find a way and feel ok All we got is a little I can do it plan To find a way and feel ok All we have is a little I can do it plan To find a way and feel ok

Easy Flow 04:30
Smelling that coffee and before I know, Starting this song with an easy flow Singin for my supper and a little more Supper tastes better when they’re on the floor Cookin up a storm, yeah some body fuel Servin in up and they’re thankin-a you Slidin through the chords on a steel guitar, Sound movin round, inspiring my heart All this can make me feel alive inside, Livin is good All this can make me feel alive inside, help me feel the truth All this can make me feel alive inside, everything is cool All this can make me feel alive inside, as long as you’re here with me too Daring myself just to jump right in Always floating up to do it again Dumped by a wave, struggling for some air Feel the powerful pullin, gotta take care Pumpin those pedals on a sweet machine Rolling down the mountain through the forest green Diggin with my hands down in the soil Nothin can make me feel more royal All this can make me feel alive inside, Livin is good All this can make me feel alive inside, help me feel the truth All this can make me feel alive inside, everything is cool All this can make me feel alive inside, as long as you’re here with me too Runnin round the house in the middle of the day Naked butt cheeky, that’s amore Drivin up the coast, goin see my ma, Hangin with my dad tryin a fix the car Lovin a tent yeah to light the fire Bottle of red, no computer file Hearin those stories from an elderly man When I’m his age hope I still understand All this can make me feel alive inside, Livin is good All this can make me feel alive inside, help me feel the truth All this can make me feel alive inside, everything is cool

I wanna make you feel at home, cause this is a good country And the people here are warm, my little big heart lovely I wanna take you to a place, where the mountains free the water and clear a path of grace, for a mothers crying daughter I wanna free you mind of fear, cause your old soul has courage, And the will to want to clear, any heavy weight of worry Does your home seem far away, and all the people that you love there, how are they? Well they haven’t really changed, they see your face everyday Here’s a little bit , just a little bit, take a little bit, cause you give more Here’s a little bit , just a little bit, take a little bit, cause you give more Highland people really know you, you say they understand emotion But they’re not seein’ where you float to, in a deep and restless ocean I wanna lift your heart up high, so your head can only follow Maybe we would die, but we’d be happy tomorrow Here’s a little bit , just a little bit, take a little bit, cause you give more Here’s a little bit , just a little bit, take a little bit, cause you give more So I hope you feel at home now, your little big hearts loved me….

When To Quit 03:24
I never knew what it was it just happened to be Never saw it coming, just a lovin, never said it’ll ever happen to me Never said it happen to me Shiny new guitar will blow a young boys mind New so much better never knew jack shit about the changing times The changing times You never really know why But that’s how it is You either know what’s good for you Or never know when to quit I never knew when, where, how or why Gotta little older, broader shoulder, carried weight I never realised I couldn’t not try You see one is not a lonely number for me Think I told myself that two would give up more easily But don’t listen to me You never really know why But that’s how it is You either know what’s good for you Or never know when to quit You never really know why As strange as it is You either know what’s good for you Or never know when to quit CHORUS You never really know why But that’s how it is You either know what’s good for you Or never know when to quit You never really know why As strange as it is You either know what’s good for you Or never know when to quit, when to quit

Singin Words 03:40
I’ll start this song by singin words no-one hears but everyone’s heard Cause these day’s we’ve all got to much to really know or really love Now there’s a word that flows so well hear it see it when we buy or sell It’s not the word that’s used anymore for feelin really, really warm In tenderness in our chest Start by countin one to ten stop your breathin and the world will spin And you might get a little of what it’s like when it’s time to say goodbye And what’s important to us all is certainly different if you run a poll But one thing we would all agree war kills people like you and me Without tenderness in our chest A little tenderness in our chest So get it out, just get it out, get it out and let it all come out So I’ll finish this song by singin words someone hears and someone’s heard Cause these day’s are just the same as the rest shit is held in and shit is expressed So take someone’s love and hold on tight cause up a head looks like a bumpy ride It dosen’t matter with whom we fight the world is to small now to chose a side
9.
Make sure that your heart is full Cause emptiness can come so easily And follow your sweet happiness Cause sadness is not sold so easily and Age is not a problem Age will give you years when you are free Age is not a problem Age is just a line to mortality And eat well with your shiny teeth Cause many others starve so easily And sleep well with your conscience clean Not many men can sleep so easily Age is not a problem Age will give you years when you are free Age is not a problem Age is just a line to mortality And beware of your tiny feet A million feet can trample easily And vote for compassion not war Be wise do not raise arms to easily And know that you should never change What you have gived the years you’ve lived to be Age is not a problem Age will give you years when you are free Age is not a problem Age is just a line to mortality

Just For Us 04:18
Fingers find the simple notes sometimes Lead themselves to where they feel just right Other days they’re fighting for their life But right now they’re happy strolling by And it grows It will grow Just for us, to wonder why And it grows and it grows Brush strokes lead the eye and paint the day Sunrise lights the palette changing shade All by themselves amazing things are made Who’ll receive this wondrous display And it grows It will grow Just for us, to wonder why And it grows and it grows Singing this sweet song reminded me That you I seem to love so easily Being just myself so freely These things I don’t say but do believe And it grows It will grow Just for us, to wonder why And it grows and it grows

about

Finishing this album and going on tour is a dream come true and I feel extremely blessed for what my music has given me and allowed me to share with others over the years. I'm extremely proud of this album and the people that have helped me create it. The musicians I’ve been lucky enough to create this album with are some of the most talented and inspiring people I could hope to perform and record with and so a big thanks to all of those people.

The completion of this album marks a new phase of my life and I'm probably the happiest and most satisfied I've been in 20 years in both my personal life and my creative inspirations.

A very special thanks goes to my incredible Engineer and comrade on those late nights Michael Lynch. Thanks mate for believing in me and my music and for your very wise and subtle approach to the production and in understanding where this album was headed from the start and the direction in which it was needed to make it shine.

Thankyou Emily for your understanding, wonton salads, being my enthusiastic sounding board, the odd lyrical opinion or rhyme and tolerating each song on loop 100 times in pre-production ☺

The below are many other important thankyou’s in no particular order..

Phil Gentle-Snow – Use of the greatest Microphone in the world
Tristan Pemberton - Jedi Master and tech advice
Anne and Bruce – for your open and generous, love and support
Mum – for the same as well as your amazing artwork and incredible encouragement and support.
Dad - for the same and helping me with so much over the years with things like my dodgy cars and mechanical musical experiments
Martha Lynch – For being so patient and not breaking Mick’s balls ☺
Michael Ward - Dat player, general all round inspiring smelly muso
Michael Carpenter and Mat Fell – for lending various wonderful mic’s and instruments
Maurice Tabone – for your sheer enthusiasm and endless creative ideas.
James Dawson – for stacks of local gigs so I didn’t starve.
The Aged Care population throughout Sydney – for helping me do the same!
Friends – for being someone I can have a beer and a good chat
Fans – for diggin’ my tunes of course and inspiring me to keep writing music and connecting with people in good fortune or in sadness and in everything in between.
Australian Music Office – for some sound advice
